QAHS was the host campus this year for the Queensland Academies Staff Network day, where staff from all three QA campuses come together for a series of professional development experiences.  This year we were fortunate to have the Director General of the Department of Education and Training, Dr Jim Watterston, on site to meet with staff and to open our conference day with his keynote that set the stage for a constructive day of learning and sharing of strategies that see the Queensland Academies as the top performing schools in the state.

On the same day we also hosted students and staff from Mudgeeraba Creek State School, for their final day of an exciting Maths challenge program facilitated by QAHS teacher Mr Gary Fox each Friday morning for six weeks.  The MCSS students, who expressed their appreciation for the great experience they have had at QAHS, were especially thrilled to meet the Director General, who presented students with certificates.
