Queensland Academies: Sporting Endeavours

Students from all three Academies have been involved in a wide range of sporting endeavours in the last few weeks. This demonstrates the IB learner profile attribute balance, juggling different aspects of their lives both academically and physically.

Queensland Academy for Science Mathematics and Technology fielded 11 teams to participate in the West Brisbane Sport Association Summer Gala Day last week. Three of the teams brought premiership pennants back to school. This is a significant achievement and demonstrates the progress they have made since introducing the sports program. Stephanie Kallas from the Queensland Academies: Health Sciences campus showed her all-round sporting ability by qualifying for both the 15yrs AFL State Trials and 15yrs Soccer State Carnival. Stephanie reflected on the trials describing them as an amazing experience. Click here to read more

Additionally, students from the Queensland Academies: Creative Industries campus participated in their iconic Aquafest swimming carnival. The day provided perfect weather and students and staff enjoyed a fun filled day, working together and showing high levels of team spirit. Click here to read more
