Students from Queensland Academies have been participating in a wide range of STEM related activities that demonstrate their commitment to being knowledgeable and open-minded.
Future Queensland Academies Health Sciences campus students are currently in the Investigative Year of the Brilliant Futures Program. They took part in a 3 day STEM Camp over the May long weekend. They were joined by the QAHS STEM Mentors, a group of Year 10 students led by Year 11 STEM Champion Sarah Linning. Click here to read more
Meanwhile, students from Queensland Academy for Science Mathematics and Technology took part in QUT’s Vice-Chancellor’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) camp. This provided high-achieving Year 11 students with an exciting opportunity to attend an interactive 5-day camp and engage in solving some of the major challenges facing our society and planet today. Chloe Lethbridge-Salt and Wenonah van Damme from Queensland Academies Creative Industries campus were fortunate to attend a Girls Shaped Flames networking event inspiring young women with an avid interest in science. Most recently, GSF held an all-day event which allowed high school girls aspiring for careers in science, to network and bond with women who have made ground-breaking discoveries in STEM. The event was incredibly successful and there was a positive and inclusive atmosphere throughout the day. Click here to read more
