Queensland Academies: Demonstrating Balance

One of the many benefits of being a Queensland Academies student is the opportunity to demonstrate a balance between academic, creative, sporting and leadership pursuits.

Over the weekend from 14 – 15 July, three Queensland Academies Health Science campus Kokoda teams undertook a gruelling 96km challenge. This marked the culmination of one year’s worth of Monday, Wednesday & Friday early morning QAHS GRIT training sessions as well as 242.2km of training hike. Click here to read more

Four students from Queensland Academy for Science Mathematics and Technology won the second round of the Australian Brain Bee competition this week at the University of Queensland. The Australian Brain Bee Challenge (ABBC) is a competition for high school students in Year 10 to learn about the brain and its functions, learn about neuroscience research, find out about careers in neuroscience and to dispel misconceptions about neurological and mental illnesses. . Queensland Academies Creative Industries campus students are performing in an upcoming performance titled “In the Blink of an Eye”. “In the Blink of an Eye” is an Extensive Youth Dance Project of 5 months in duration culminating in a final Performance at Lake Kawana Community Centre. Click here to read more
