Students will take apart an inexpensive torch to see how it works and then make a torch of their own design using common household materials. Simple circuits, malfunctions and forms of energy will be explored in this hands-on workshop.
Location: Queensland Academies, Science, Mathematics and Technology Campus (78 Bywong Street, Toowong)
Date: Wednesday, 8 November
Time: 4.00 – 5.30 pm
Students are required to wear comfortable clothes, enclosed shoes, with hair tied back, and bring a drink. All other materials are supplied.
This workshop seeks to:
- explicitly explore the concept of connection
- strengthen attitudes associated with making a commitment
- provide students with the opportunity to develop self-management skills including those associated fine motor skills.
