STEM Design Challenge: Edible Lunar Vehicle (Bright Minds)
This student-centred, engineering design task requires students to utilise process and production skills to develop a design solution to the ‘Edible Lunar Vehicle’ problem. Students will investigate and experiment with the properties of materials, and consider the full complexities of designing a vehicle specifically for the moon’s surface. And at the end, may even eat it!
Location: Queensland Academies, Science, Mathematics and Technology campus, 78 Bywong St, Toowong
Date: Saturday, 14 October, 2017
Time: 11.30 am – 1.30 pm
Students are required to wear comfortable clothes, enclosed shoes, with hair tied back, and bring a drink and a snack. All other materials are supplied
This workshop seeks to:
- explicitly explore the concept of responsibility
- strengthen cooperation skills and,
- provide students with the opportunity to develop self-management skills including those associated with making informed choices.
