Rohaan HaikerwalRohaan Haikerwal

Class: 2018

IB score: 44

During his study at the Health Sciences Campus (QAHS), Rohaan excelled in Business Management as State winner of the Australian Business Studies Competition, in Science in the National Youth Science Forum and Royal Australian Chemistry Institute National Chemistry Quiz, and in Mathematics. An accomplished debater, Rohaan coached the QAHS Intermediate A team to champion success and honoured Australian service personnel in completing the 96km Kokoda Challenge.

Rohaan will commence a Bachelor of Medical Science at Griffith University in 2019.


Maria SaitoMaria Saito

Class: 2018

IB score: 44

A talented strings musician and elected member of the QAHS Student Executive, Maria's leadership was recognised with an International Women's Day Youth Leadership Award 2018. During her study at QAHS, she excelled in Mandarin Speech Competitions and in Science with recognition of her scientific research at regional, state and national level. Maria is a finalist in the BHP Billiton Science and Engineering National Research Awards to be announced February 2019.

Maria will commence a Bachelor of Medical Science at Griffith University in 2019. Maria was the recipient of the Sir Samuel Griffith Scholarship valued at $24,000.


Joseph HanJoseph Han

Class: 2018

IB score: 44

A strong commitment to service in his local community through volunteering with Homeless Connect and the Kokoda Challenge, Joseph excelled in Science at QAHS as recognised in the Royal Australian Chemistry Institute National Chemistry Quiz. He was an active member of the QAHS Dragon Dancing Team which performed in Southport Chinatown and at the Brisbane Ekka.

Joseph will commence a Bachelor of Dental Health Science at Griffith University in 2019.


Kane SegawaKane Segawa

Class: 2018

IB score: 44

Excelling in Mathematics and Science, Kane was recognised for his outstanding scientific research with the Royal Australian Chemistry Institute Bursary and multiple CSIRO Crest Awards. He served the QAHS school community with his Japanese language skills on visiting delegations and through his active participation with the Animal Welfare League and Green Generation.

Kane will commence a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Queensland in 2019. Kane was awarded the UQ Excellence Scholarship valued at $24,000.
