In 2019, our outreach programs will feature workshops that reflect the individual style of the each of our three academies. This enables us to tailor our workshop programs to suit needs of our younger students and for those students to build closer relationships with our campus communities.
Young Scholars Years 6-8
The Queensland Academies Young Scholars Program provides is a selective-entry program that offers highly-capable students in Years 6 to 8 the chance to engage in challenging enrichment opportunities.
This initiative creates an innovative and unique curriculum that responds to the needs of Education Queensland’s Framework for Gifted Education.
The Young Scholars Program offers a range of fee-for-service online courses in a range of educational streams for highly capable students. In particular, we work with the Queensland Virtual STEM Academy (QVSA) to deliver enrichment and enhancement programs focusing on current, real world science, technology, engineering and mathematic challenges and research. Students are given the opportunity to build a portfolio of learning experiences underpinned by inquiry, critical thinking, problem solving curiosity and collaboration.
The Young Scholars Program is a fee-for-service program with an annual membership fee of $30. Annual membership fees will be charged at the commencement of the academic year.
