Queensland Academies Health Sciences Campus (QAHS) opened in 2008 at Southport, enrolling highly-capable secondary students in Years 10 to 12.
QAHS and Griffith University are co-located in adjoining campuses on the Gold Coast. Through its partnership with Griffith University, and the QAHS curriculum offerings, QAHS also affords credit options to students in areas that include Business, Law, Engineering, Arts, Criminology, Information Technology, Psychology, Education and Multimedia.
QAHS has state of the art facilities including a fully wireless campus, air-conditioned classrooms, university standard science laboratories, a 500 seat Lecture Theatre, a fully serviced refectory, and gymnasium. The staff are selected for their expertise and commitment to working in close partnership with parents to ensure each student achieves to their potential. Through the possibilities of research, a spirit of altruism, an inherent compassion and scientific curiosity, QAHS students are connected to the world, focussed on the future and committed to service.
QAHS students are involved in a broad range of challenging enrichment activities - some include CSIRO CREST (National Award Winners), BHP Billiton Science Research Awards, Regional, State and National Mathematics and Science Competitions, Regional Sport, Leadership Development Programs, Australian Business Week, Language and Linguistics Competitions, a comprehensive instrumental music program and various Community Projects.
